Brian C. Young

Castleton On Hudson - Brian C. Young, 74, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Peter's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Meriden, CT, was son of the late Crandall Kingsley Young and Alice O'Connor Young and husband for 53 years of Donna Scott Young. He was raised in Meriden, Connecticut, resided in Troy from 1968 and since 1979 in Castleton. He was a graduate of Maloney High School in Connecticut and Hudson Valley Community College.

Brian was a project manager for Kingsley Arms in Schaghticoke for 18 years.   

He enjoyed playing guitar, was on the swim team at Maloney High School, was a sharp shooter, had his Junior Racing License and loved spending time at Westbrook on Long Island Sound. He was a meticulous craftsman and  had numerous renovation projects. Brian’s grandfathers were both silversmiths. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Maria Kristen (James) McIsaac, Grafton; a son, Ian Scott (Michelle Starer) Young, Averill Park; a sister, Ann (Harry) Dougherty, Meriden, CT; a sister-in-law, Lynn Young and 4 nephews, Patrick and Alan Dougherty and  Philip and Matthew Young. He was predeceased by a brother, Kevin Young.
                                            
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392NY150 West Sand Lake on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 2-5 with a funeral service at 5PM.
