Beth Ann Newkirk

Syracuse - Beth Ann Newkirk, 32, of Buckingham Avenue died suddenly in an apartment house fire, Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of Floyd and Diane Weeden Newkirk of Johnsonville.  She was raised in South Troy and a 2004 graduate of Troy High School. She earned an Associates Degree from Hudson Valley Community College and transferred last year to SUNY ESF.

Beth was working this summer with the New York Heritage Program in Syracuse.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles, hiking, camping, and learning about birds, bugs, plants, and animals. Beth was gregarious and was well loved by her many friends and family.    

Survivors in addition to her parents include two sisters, Amy (Patrick Ryon) Weeden, Auckland, NZ and Elise (Chris) Newkirk-Kotfila, Washington, DC.  Also lost in the fire were her two beloved dogs, Siegfried and Abby. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 5-7PM  with a service to follow at 7PM with Pastor Kate Kotfila, officiating.
