Bernard C. Peters, Jr.

Troy - Bernard C. Peters Jr., 66, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Bernard C. Peters Sr. and Theresa Naples Peters and his stepmother, Lucille LaLima Peters. He had resided in Troy all his life and was proud of attending LaSalle Institute and Hudson Valley Community College. 

Bernie was a valued employee of National Grid for 39 years.  

He will be fondly remembered as a Capital District area wide basketball player and an avid sports fan, especially the NY Yankees and NY Giants.  He was a Siena Men’s Basketball Season Ticket Holder for many years and followed the UCONN Woman's College Basketball team.  His love of the printed newspaper never wavered. He received and read five newspapers daily.  

Survivors include a son, Brian C. Peters, Scotia; a daughter, Bryna L. Peters, Latham; a sister, Doreen J. (Kenneth) Jones, Bloomsburg, PA and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 5-8 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, officiating. Face covering and social distancing are required inside during visitation and services.

Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum Troy.
