Arthur Blair Obituary

Troy - Arthur J. Blair, 88, formerly of North Lake Avenue Troy died Friday, December 23, 2022, at Evergreen Commons East Greenbush after a long illness.

Born in Cohoes, he was son of the late Charles Blair and Clara LaCross Blair and husband of the late Ida M.  Blair. He had resided in Troy most of his  life and summered for 17 years at Cossayuna Lake. He attended St. Joseph’s School in Cohoes. 

Arthur was a bus driver for 15 years, driving for Laidlaw and Folmsbee Transportation.  Prior to that he worked for Allegheny Ludlum for 15 years, Behr-Manning, the Watervliet Arsenal, General Electric and Southco as a grinder retiring in 1999.   

He was active in the Brunswick Little League, Lansingburgh Independent League, bowling at the Alpha Lanes in North Troy and enjoyed fishing.    

Survivors include three sons, Arthur S. (Constance) Blair, Troy, William C. (Janice) Blair, North Carolina and Wayne E. (Patricia) Blair, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by several siblings.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10-11 AM with funeral service at 11AM with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.

Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Arthur J. Blair to the American Diabetes Association 2 Pine West Plaza Albany, NY 12205.
