Averill Park - Arlene M. Gardner, 85, died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush after a long illness.
Born in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late Martin Whipple and Elizabeth Daly Whipple and wife for 50 years to Ralph P. Gardner. She had resided in Averill Park for the past 38 years and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Arlene retired as the secretary to the Health Commissioner and was employed by the Rensselaer County Health Department for 30 years.
She was an avid bowler and loved to travel to exotic places. She would often accompany her husband, Ralph, on business trips all over the world and venture and explore their destinations on her own.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Ralph, include her siblings, Barbara Whipple of Saratoga Springs, Robert and Steven Whipple both of Gainesville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 NY150,West Sand Lake on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 9 - 11 AM with a service to follow at 11AM.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.
