Anahid 'Annie' Altounian

Loudonville - Anahid "Annie" Altounian, 79, of Loudonville, the beloved and devoted wife of Zareh Altounian, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 3, 2022.  Annie was born on June 24, 1942 in Beirut , Lebanon and was the daughter of the late Levon and Zabel Ohanian.  Annie was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and Community leader.  Her favorite activities involved anything that allowed her to be together with her family.  She was an avid reader and cook. Annie was devoted to the St Peters Armenian School - she was the cultural pillar and devoted to preserving the Armenian language and heritage in our community.  She took such joy from teaching the children of the community the beautiful Armenian language and poetry and treat those kids as her own.  She loved the youth and dedicated herself to them. Annie devoted her life to her husband of 48 years Zareh, and her son Raffi  who she was very proud of. Raffi was the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings , Ohan (and Rita ) Ohanian, Jacqueline Ohanian, Dickran (and Aline ) Ohanian , the late Hratch ( and Silva) Ohanian, her brother in law Zaven Altounian, as well as her nieces and nephews ; Leo (and Sevana) Ohanian, Isabel (and David ) Kubikian , Sarine (and Giulo) Centemero, Sevag Ohanian , Haig  Ohanian , Ohan Ohanian, Alique Ohanian, Andrew Ohanian, and Simon Ohanian. She was especially proud of her grand nieces and nephews Jacqueline and Arthur Alexander Kubikian, Leona and Noelle Ohanian, and Ari Cenetmero. The calling hours for wake are Tuesday March 8 at 10:00 am and a mass at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Armenian Church , 255 Spring Avenue , Troy, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Armenian School, Homenetmen Of Albany or Holy Cross Armenian Church.
