Altamont - Aline Silsby Wilson, 94, died Friday, March 13, 2026, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland after a long illness.
Born in Berlin, CT, she was daughter of the late Robert Silsby and Charline Sanders Silsby. She was raised in Berlin, Connecticut, resided in Troy for many years and in Walnut Creek, CA from 2005-2019 before returning to Troy. Aline earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of New Haven.
Aline was a teacher at Doyle Middle School in Troy for over 20 years, teaching art and remedial reading.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Troy and Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, a lifelong member of the P.E.O. women's organization, and an avid dog lover.
Survivors include two sons, Win (Michelene) Wilson, Brunswick and Elliot (Lisa) Wilson, Glenmont; a daughter-in-law, Susan Wilson, Lake Tahoe and six grandchildren, Cahill, Corinne, CJ, Nicole, Matthew and Katy Wilson, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Robert and Todd Wilson, and former spouse Dwight Wilson Jr of Cape Cod.
Funeral service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church in Troy, 1915 Fifth Avenue on Friday April 10 at 11:00 with Pastor Rev. Marranda Major officiating. A brief reception at the church will follow.
