Troy - Alice Ann (Sanjian) Rotondi, age 90, passed peacefully at home on October 14, 2021. Born on February 28, 1931 to Seth and Sarah (Bedrosian) Sanjian, Alice was a life-long resident of Troy, NY.
An accomplished artist, she was a former president of the Birchkill Arts and Crafts Association, as well as an active member in the Rensselaer County Historical Society. In addition to her love of art, she was an avid gardener - her floral displays were an annual presence at New York in Bloom at the New York State Museum; one of them gracing the event’s official poster. Alice was married for 68 years to Dominic M. Rotondi. Together they raised a beautiful family, traveled the world (8 countries and 28 states), enjoyed tennis, cross-county skiing, and family vacations to Cape Cod. Alice was well-known for her generous hospitality and hosted friends and family alike with her delicious cooking and engaging conversation. She was known as “Nana” to all.
In addition to her husband, Alice is survived by her children, Dominic (Emily), Michael (Margaret), Diana Munaron, and Anita (Benjamin) Rosner; her grandchildren Dominic (Milagros) Rotondi and Christina (Dan) Newcombe, Lina Munaron, and Simon (Mary) and Juliet Rosner; her great-grandchildren Mila and Dante Rotondi; her sisters Joyce Forner and Rosemary DuBois and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Lucille Babikian and brother Henry Sanjian.
Relatives and friends may call at Our Lady of Victory Church 55 North Lake Avenue Troy on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 10-11 AM with a celebration of her life and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11AM with Rev. Thomas Morrette, Pastor, officiating. Face covering and social distancing are required if not vaccinated.
Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
