Wilson Large, 98

East Greenbush - Wilson Large, 98, of Luther Road and formerly of Campbell Avenue Troy died Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Evergreen Commons after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late John William Large and Sarah Wilson Large and husband of the late Isabella Agnes Montgomery Large. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1931.

Mr. Large was a self employed building contractor and renovator in the Troy area for 50 years, retiring in the late 80's.

He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church in Troy, a former lifetime member of Woodside Presbyterian Church in Troy and a Deacon and Elder of the church. He was a member of the Apollo Masonic Lodge F&AM. They summered for many years at Methodist Farm on Crooked Lake in Averill Park. Wilson was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Elizabeth Large, Troy; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Spierre, Poestenkill and Cheryl (Jay) McGlothlin, Troy and three great grandchildren, Jeanine Spierre and William and Caitlynn McGlothlin all of Poestenkill.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 4-6PM.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10AM at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Wilson Large to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY Pine West Plaza, Bldg 4, Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205.
