William J. VanDenBurgh , 80

Delmar William J. VanDenBurgh , 80,of Delmar and formerly of Troy died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was former husband of Leona M. Valone Moore of Delmar.

He had resided in Troy most of his life and the past 10 years in Delmar and was educated at Troy Schools.

Mr.VanDenBurgh was a fork lift operator and taping machine operator for Fort Orange Paper Company in Castleton for 25 years retiring 10 years ago and prior to that worked at Montgomery Ward in Menands.

He was a Corporal in the Army during World War II in the 246th Field Artillery Battalion in the Pacific theatre, reenlisted from 1947-51 in the US Navy and in 1955 in the US Air Force and was a member of the Domain of the Golden Dragon- Ruler of the 180th Meridian. He was a member of the Geerholt-Rehm Post VFW in Wynantskill.

Survivors in addition to his former wife include a son, Earl L. Broomall (Sherri) of Wynantskill; a daughter, Judy Leonbruno (Jeff) of Florida; eight grandchildren, Earl Broomall II, Kevin, Cindy and Barbara Broomall and Sarah Leonbruno, Robert Pryor II, Todd Pryor and Laurie Fisher; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, in Glenmont, NY.
