William H. Richter

NORTH GREENBUSH - William H. Richter passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Samaritan hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late F. William and Eva B. (Früh) Richter.

He was a graduate of LaSalle Institute. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He resided in North Greenbush since 1955 and was a lifetime member of the Defreestville Fire Department.

Bill was a carpenter for NYS Parks and Recreation for 25 years. He enjoyed scouting, camping, bowling, table tennis, and playing poker with his friends.

Survivors include his wife Ann M. (Hogan) Richter, three daughters, Lisa A. (Brian) McDonald, Lynn A. Bonanni, Patricia A. (Robert) Benoit, and four grandchildren, Katelyn (Paul) Ryan, Kara McDonald, Kayla Bonanni, and Robert Benoit, Jr. He was also predeceased by his sister, Barbara M. Richter.

Bill was a charter member of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7PM.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of William H. Richter to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Bill's family wishes to extend enormous thanks to Dennis Cicchino, RPA, Dr. Robert Benton, his new Samaritan Hospital buddy Shadrick Ollennu and the Hospice staff.
