William E. Quandt, Sr.

Poestenkill - William E. Quandt, Sr., 77, of Skyview Drive died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at his residence.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Albert Quandt and Marion Rymiller Quandt and husband of the late Ruth Schreiner Quandt. He resided in Troy and Brunswick most of his life and the past 21 years with his daughter in Poestenkill and was a graduate of Troy schools. 

Mr. Quandt was a CDL truck driver delivering oil for several area companies including, Mintzer, King, ARG, Gorman Brothers and Long Oil for over 50 years.

He was a life member of the Mountain View Fire Company and Past Assistant Chief and Past President and a member of the Teamsters.    

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (James, Jr.) Hannigan, Wynantskill; a daughter-in-law, Denice Quandt; his 13 grandchildren, James (Kasey) Hannigan, III, Ryan (Sarah) Hannigan, Lisa (Adam) Cioffi,  Jeremy,  Gregory, Jordan and Catherine Hannigan and Jennifer (Carl), William (Chrissy), Jeffrey (Amy), Heidi (Dave) Quandt, Jessica (Tom) Harris and Marissa (Paul) Spadafora; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Rockwell; a brother, Philip Quandt; a niece, Susan Revoir and several additional nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a son, William E. Quandt, Jr. In November and a sister, Sheila Carroll.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of William E. Quandt, Sr. to the Mountain View Fire Company 2 Shafter Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
