William G. 'Willie' Peters, 67

Troy - William G. 'Willie' Peters, 67, of Ford Avenue died Friday, December 7, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Glenford Allen Peters and Helen Shober Peters and husband for 28 years of Debbie Furciniti Peters. He had resided in Troy all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Willie was a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Transportation in Albany retiring in 1991 and prior to that for Holmes Transportation for 20 years.

He was an avid woodworker.

Survivors in addition to his wife include five sons, Billy (Linda) Peters, Clifton Park, Andy (Donna) Peters, Johnsonville, Chris (April) Peters, Johnsonville, Josh (Angela) Jones, Guilderland and Chad Peters, Troy; 14 grandchildren, Ashlea, Marissa, Nick, Tiff, Chelsea, Joshua, Charlie, Tony, Alicia, Destiny, Justin, Derick, Evan and Andrew; a great granddaughter, Elliana; his mother-in-law, Joan French Furciniti, Troy and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Murray.

A special thank you to Barb McHale and the nurses in the cancer treatment center of Samaritan Hospital and to Tracy Peters.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of William G. Peters to the Samaritan Hospital Cancer Center 2215 Burdett Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
