my most sincere condolences to the chamberlain family. I worked with bill decades ago on recycling in Troy and I appreciated his openness and commitment to environmental protection. He was the very definition of a dedicated public servant. May he rest in peace and I hope that his family and friends eventually find a way to heal. He will always be with you. Sincerely , Judith Enck

To Nancy, Ryan, Patrick, Meredith, Paula, and all of Bill's extended family:

There are no words I can think of that will provide you comfort amidst this tragedy. I know that every time I think about the manner in which Bill was taken from us, I feel deep sorrow and anger. I cannot fathom what you are going through, and I can only offer my deepest sympathy during this difficult time.

Last night was the first time that I met all of you. In the brief moment I had to introduce myself to you, I forgot one thing: I want to thank you all for sharing Bill with us. He touched many lives, wore many hats, and always put all of his energy into whatever he was working on. His dedication to public service and the City of Troy is unmatched. He made my job as a councilman much easier because I knew that if I sent him a request, it would get done, and it would get done right.

He was thorough and organized, and I could never understand how one man knew so much about so many things. He was a book of knowledge and wisdom, and he used facts and figures to make his case, never allowing politics or personalities to get in the way of sound judgment. He was never afraid to speak his mind. He was often the only person in the room whom us stubborn council members would listen to and take seriously. Yes, he was that important to us. This is why I cannot accept that he is gone. It is unthinkable to me.

If any solace can be found among the many tears that we are all shedding, it is that Bill made all our lives better, and those are the memories that I will hold on to. He lived to serve his community, and as a community, we will mourn his loss but also celebrate his legacy.

I am very sorry for your loss, and I offer my condolences to all of you.

Rest In Peace, Bill, and thank you for giving a part of yourself to all of us.

Patrick, Nancy and Ryan, I wanted to tell you how just how sad Jackie and I are at the sudden and tragic loss of your father and husband. Bill was an amazing gentleman and it was a pleasure to have know him through working with him at the City of Troy and now working with Patrick. May he rest in eternal peace.

From working as a consultant to the City in the 1990s, I got to know Bill professionally. I can only imagine what a great husband and father he was, and what a grievous loss you must feel. Bill was smart, dedicated, and easy to like. I am sure those qualities carried through to his family life as well. Please know that you and he are in my prayers.

Meredith, Paula & Chamberlain Family,

My deepest sympathies to you and your entire family. Though I did not know Bill personally from our days in Lansinburgh, our paths did cross when I needed assistance getting into the city of Troy during a major event a few years ago. He guided me through the crowded city streets, through barricades, and even offered his cell phone number in case I ran into trouble. I have no doubt that the helpfulness, enthusiasm and responsibility he showed on that day were just a glimpse into his exemplary character. May God bless you all.

To The Chamberlain Family:
I'd like to express my deepest condolences to all of you that have suffered a horrible tragedy this past week. Losing a husband and father that was such a good, caring, and loving man is just incredibly difficult. I worked for many years with Bill when I was in Troy politics and I can't begin to tell you all he did to help and assist me in my days as Councilperson and Mayor and also the invaluable partner he was to me when I coordinated the Bicentennial Celebration with ongoing events and celebrations throughout the year. He was a detail man and once you asked him to handle something it was done in spectacular fashion!! He was the BEST!!
He was also one of the finest individuals I ever met and I was always proud to call him my friend. I'll miss you Bill and may God Bless and take care of you for eternity.

Nancy, Ryan & Patrick,

I have had the pleasure of working with Bill for 30+ years. We always had a great time working together. Together we were the Masters of Sarcasm at City Hall, we had so much fun together.

Professionally, Bill and I worked on many projects together and when we were finished I knew the project was going to be a success because Bill was extremely thorough. What I liked the most about Bill, was his straight up honesty. You could always state your feeling about a matter and he would never lose respect for you.

Besides working together, Bill was a true friend. We had a lot of laughs together.

I am so sorry for your loss, and I know I will miss him.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

There’s never been anything that we looked forward to more than getting together with our dearest friends, Bill, Nancy, Peggy and Tim. We never laughed as long, or as hard, as we did when this special group of friends assembled. We were blessed within this circle to be able to talk to each other about anything, knowing that we were safe, supported, and loved. For us, this was more than friendship; this was family. Our group will never be the same without our beloved friend Bill. We are so grateful for the honor of his friendship for all of these years. We will treasure every memory of our times together. Nancy, may the friendship and love we have all shared over these many years, support you and comfort you during this time of unimaginable loss. As a follow classmate, I remember Bill fondly. He sat in front of me in homeroom for our entire high school journey. He was always smiling! Over the years, we'd run into each other and catch-up. He was very helpful to my husband and I when we had trouble with a rental property. My prayer for Bill's family and friends is that the memories you have and the love you all shared will bring you all peace during this sorrowful time. Rest in peace, Bill!

When Bill and I first met he was newly married, working every weekend on a Rankin Avenue home improvement project, leading up to the birth of his first son. He was building a life with a family that would become his world. Guided by Hink and Ginger, you did a great job. Glad I got to share in the journey. A stand up guy, a real gentleman and a community leader. You impressed me then, you impress me now. Remembered fondly.

Nancy , Ryan, and Patrick, When we think of Bill , it will be with a smile..... The infamous "mole" dinner in Myrtle Beach .... Elevator phobias ... Resulting in Bill's lovingly referring to myself and my sisters as the McKooks !! .. Hannaford grocery shopping on Sunday's.... His story telling .... The pride in his voice when he spoke of his boys ..... His comments when he would be picking up dinner at Paolo's ...... Nancy , he may have referred to it as your kitchen.... Or something similar ! On and on and on. Rest in peace , Bill Chamberlain . You will be missed by all that knew you.

Sending condolences to the Chamberlain family during their time of mourning, my God comfort and keep you in peace during these trying times. The bible tells us "to be absent from the body, you are present with the Lord" and Bill is present with the Lord, RIP my friend.

Dear Nancy, Ryan and Patrick, you have my Deepest Sympathies and most Sincere Condolences in the terrible unexpected loss of such a Wonderful Husband, Best Father & Well Known & Respected, Kind Man. I am honored to have known Bill - his Legacy will live on with Ryan and Patrick, having been raised by such loving parents. I wish I could take away some of the hurt & pain for all of you. Patrick is like a son to me and treats Aly with the love and respect you instilled in him and I am grateful to you for that. I will pray for all of you and remember Bill with fondness. Love, Karen Livolsi, Aly & Shane Feye
