Wayne Michael Bailey, 50

Malta - Wayne Michael Bailey, 50, of Eastline Road died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH after a tenacious battle to save his heart.

Born in Troy, he was a devoted son of Sidney James Bailey Jr. and the late Joan T. Campbell Bailey and a devoted husband of Kathleen Breen Bailey.

Wayne attended LaSalle Military Institute and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service before serving as an officer in the Army of the United States. He lived with his wife in Bavaria, Germany, and the Washington DC area as a military intelligence officer. He traveled extensively to Europe, Asia and Africa both for business and pleasure. Upon leaving military service, he continued to work as a program manager in the national defense sector until joining the New York Independent System Operator in 2000. Wayne rose to become the NYISO Vice President for Compliance & Risk Management.

Wayne and Kate returned to his home in the Capital Region to transition to life on a small farm. Wayne loved his dogs, birds and nature and was an avid gardener. Cooking and entertaining were central to his life.

Wayne is survived by his father Sidney James and his wife Diane of Wynantskill, his brothers James T. Bailey (Nicole) of Burnt Hills, and Blaise P. Bailey (MaryAnn) of Clifton Park and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue in Troy on Thursday, from 4 - 7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home and at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Vaughan.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Wayne Michael Bailey to the American Red Cross 737 Second Avenue Troy, NY 12182.
