Wayman L Sagendorf, 'Sagie' 'The Greens Man', 90

North Greenbush - Wayman L Sagendorf, 'Sagie' 'The Greens Man', 90, Blooming Grove Drive, died May 4, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital Troy.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was son of the late Raymond Sagendorf and Ethel (Gardner) Myers and wife of the late Marie (Engwer) Sagendorf.

He resided on Stop 13 Road in West Sand Lake for many years.

Sagie operated with his wife, 'The Greens Man' from Stop 13 Road in West Sand Lake, a wholesale greens distributor for many years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that he worked at Albia Box Company, D&H Railroad and Dan Engwer Sr. Wholesale. He also operated Waymarsa Kennels in West Sand Lake.

He was a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks, Sgt. Walter Adams American Legion Post 1021 Averill Park, Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #7396 North Greenbush, Chairman of the Albany Florists Club and an Auxiliary Member of the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department. Sagie was a Navy veteran of World War II stationed in the Pacific Theatre.

Survivors include his sons, Wayman (Cheryl) Sagendorph Jr. of Lumberton, NC, Edward Sagendorf of North Troy and Timothy Sagendorf of Schaghticoke; 19 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren, 11great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and many close friends including Janice Ernst of West Sand Lake. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marie A. 'Sis' Callahan; two sons, Thomas Francis and Robert Daniel Sagendorf; a brother, Edward G Sagendorf and a sister Mary Thompson.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Third Presbyterian Church 113 Winter Street Troy with Rev. John McAuley, Pastor, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
