Walter Joseph Ryan Sr., 59

Brunswick-Walter Joseph Ryan Sr., 59,of Mt. Pleasant Avenue, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Edward Ryan Sr. and Lorraine (Borden) Ryan and husband for 38 years of Madeline S. Coffey Ryan.

He was raised in Troy, resided in the bay area of California for 23 years, returning to Troy in 2000 and was educated at Troy Schools and attended RPI before attending accounting school in California.

Mr. Ryan worked as a manufacturing sales engineer for many years most recently for Square D for 5 years.

He was a veteran of the Marine Corp, Delta Company while serving in the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran's, Lansingburgh Veteran's and attended Brunswick Church. Mr. Ryan had been active for many years in all levels of baseball from little league to semi-pro.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Brenda S. Robichaud (Joseph) of Brunswick; two sons, Walter J. Ryan Jr. of Brunswick and Anthony Casanova (Tammy Vasquez) of CA; two sisters, Anne Dunn (Irving) of Brunswick and Marion Eaton (John) of Niskayuna; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Jonathan Robichaud, Kailah M. Ryan, Ashleigh and Dominick Casanova and Toni and Samantha Pitta; two sisters-in-law, Carol and Roberta Noah; several nieces and nephews including Debbie and Keith Ryan and Timothy and Ryan Dunn and several cousins.

A memorial service with a reception to follow will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane in the old sanctuary.

Interment Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Walter Ryan to the charity of ones choice.
