Walter F. Lane , 65

Averill Park Walter F. Lane , 65 ,of Old Route 66 Averill Park, died Friday, October 1, 2004 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in South Boston, MA, he was son of the late Francis and Anna (VanderMeer) Lane and husband for 44 years of Patricia A. Buchan Lane.

He had resided the past 25 years in Averill Park and was educated at Lexington, MA schools.

Mr. Lane was employed as a mason for the Bricklayers Union Local 2 in Albany for 21 years retiring 5 years ago and prior to that was a laborer for Local 22 in Boston.

He was an avid woodworker. Walter wanted everyone to know he had the best family in the world.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four sons, Alan J. Lane (Vicki Close) of Ephratah, NY, Walter T. (Kirsten) Lane of Brunswick and Thomas M. and Kenneth P. Lane both of Averill Park; a daughter, Karen (Raymond) Folmsbee of Poestenkill; a daughter-in-law-Lisa Lane (Chris Sheldrick)of Averill Park; three brothers, Francis Lane of Quincy, MA., Joseph Lane of Allston, MA and William Lane of Somerville, MA; eleven grandchildren, Alan, Timothy, Ashley, Michael, Audrey, Keith, Cody and Kayla Lane, Traci and Theresa Folmsbee, and Lorin Speir. He was predeceased by a son, David Gary Shea.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 8:30 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake and at 9:00 AM at St. Henry's Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment St. Henry's Cemetery, in Averill Park.
