Wallace W. Carr

Waterford - Wallace W. Carr, 88, of Middletown Road died suddenly Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Samaritan Hospital 2215 Burdett Avenue Troy.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Alfred B. Carr and Hallie Bryce Carr and husband for 30 years of Celsa Escalante Carr. He was raised on 17th Street in Troy, resided in Waterford since 1959 and was a graduate of Troy High School and earned his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Philadelphia University.

Wallace was employed as Chief Chemist for Star Textile in Cohoes for 25 years retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church and loved all outdoor activities including gardening, camping and fishing.  He held his private airplane pilots license.  He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four sons, Kenneth A. Carr, Penfield, NY, Stephen Wallace Carr, Waterford, Wendell W. Carr, Clifton Park and Jeffrey Bryce Carr, Waterford, two sisters, Shirley (Phillip) Martin, Brighton, Mich. and Doris (Donald) Raymond, Windham, NH and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Donald B. 
Carr.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9-11 AM with a graveside service to follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
