Virginia S. Ekmalian Dolab, 77

Brunswick Virginia S. Ekmalian Dolab, 77, of Pinewoods Avenue, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Solomon and Hanamhas Aprahamian Ekmalian and wife for 54 years of Harry Dolab. She had resided in the Troy area all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School and Troy Business College.

Mrs. Dolab was a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church in Troy and a member of its Mr. and Mrs. Club and the Daughters of Vartan.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Rachel K. Altounian (Ara) of Troy; a brother, Edward Ekmalian of West Sand Lake; two sisters Elsie Mardigian (Harry) of Brunswick and Aurora Herrero of Albany; a granddaughter, Valerie Altounian of Troy; two sisters-in-law, Rose Perras (Richard) of Boca Raton, FL and Helen Hall (Richard) of Loudonville; two brothers-in-law, Jack Dolab (Lucille) of Moraga, CA and Charles Dolab of Ashville, NC and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sarah and Edward Cavacas.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy and at 11:00am from Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church Troy with Rev. Arsen Kassabian, Pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 6-9pm. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Dolab to Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church 101 Spring Avenue Troy, NY 12180.
