Virginia Diehl (Rhinesmith), 90

Rexford - Virginia Diehl (Rhinesmith), 90, of Coburg Village Rexford and formerly of Center Brunswick Troy died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center Schenectady after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Elbert J. Diehl and Bertha M. Singer Diehl and wife of the late Rev. John G. Rhinesmith. She had resided in New York City for 5 years and Troy most of her life and was a graduate of Troy schools and Russell Sage College.

Virginia worked in public accounting firms in Troy and New York City for several years after graduating from Russell Sage as a Certified Public Accountant. She also worked at Cluett, Peabody & Company in Troy as a corporate accountant for 34 years retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Albany, United Methodist Women, active in the Russell Sage Alumnae Association and a volunteer at Rosewood Gardens in East Greenbush. She was very active on the hospitality committee at Coburg Village.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Jane Glassman, Ann (Robert) Jampel, Martha (Michael) Leoce and Mary (Rev. David) Lockwood; three grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Glassman, Rebecca (Jeffrey) O'Shea and Jonathan Jampel and six great grandchildren, Anna, Abigail, Elizabeth, Liam, Kieran and Briella.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service which will be held Saturday at 10AM at the Coburg Village Auditorium in Rexford with Rev. David Lockwood, officiating.

Interment will be in the Cemetery of the Evergreens New Lebanon.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Virginia Diehl to the Salvation Army Troy Corps Camp Fund 410 River Street Troy, NY 12180.
