Viola Lafferty, 96

North Greenbush - Viola Lafferty, 96, of Shepherd Drive died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She had been lovingly cared for by the Loudonville Home for Adults.

Born in Fairhaven, VT, she was daughter of the late Harry Kachadurian Sr. and Mary Brown Kachadurian and wife of the late Joseph C. Lafferty. She had resided in Watervliet and West Sand Lake before moving to North Greenbush 30 years ago.

Mrs. Lafferty was a piece work seamstress for many area clothing manufacturers, retiring over 30 years ago from Cluett, Peabody & Company.

She was a 30+ year volunteer for 4 Doors Down in West Sand Lake, the Women's League during World War II and a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Love Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking and doting on her family, cooking Sunday dinner and serving generous doses of love to her daughter and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Zugalla, North Greenbush; her grandchildren, Lane J. (Gina) Zugalla, Troy, Brad (Sarah) Zugalla, Colorado and Beth Anne (Benjamin) VonEitzen, North Carlolina; her great grandchildren, Bryce Joseph and Brynn Hazel VonEitzen and Joel Braun and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings including her best frien and sister, Hazel Baxter and Helen Freckleton, Harry T. Kachadurian Jr., Robert Kachadurian and Marjorie Duell.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Henry Albrechtsen, officiating.

Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery West Sand Lake.
