Victoria C. (Mamone) Dunson

Troy - Victoria C. Mamone Dunson, 85, of Taylor Court died Monday, February 6, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Nicholas Mamone and Theresa Daniels Mamone and wife for 59 years of the late Donald G. Dunson. She was educated and resided in the Troy area all her life. 

Mrs. Dunson was a homemaker and worked for 37 years as a server and cashier at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in food service.

She loved being a homemaker and cooking and hosting all the family holiday dinners and making ceramics which are now family heirlooms being enjoyed by her grandchildren.      

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Susan) Dunson, Troy and Stephen Dunson, Troy; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Davock Dunson, Troy; three sisters, Elizabeth Laiacona, Rosemary Parsley and Jean Ann (Jack) McGrath; a brother-in-law, Gary Hull; her grandchildren, Brian (Annie Bateman) Dunson and Matthew and Brianna Dunson; a special honorary granddaughter, Alessandra and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Gerald Dunson; a sister, Carmel Hull and two brothers-in-law, Nicholas Laiacona and James Parsley.

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to send many thanks to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County nurses and the staff of Samaritan Hospital for all their loving care of Victoria.
