North Greenbush - Tito P. Manoni, 79, of Hilda Court died Monday, September 28, 2015, at his residence after a brief illness.
Born in Cohoes, he was son of the late Louis Manoni and Lena Castracane Manoni and husband for 51 years of Barbara Sweeney Manoni. He was raised in Cohoes and later resided in Brunswick and North Greenbush and was a graduate of Cohoes High School and the Apprentice program at the Watervliet Arsenal.
Mr. Manoni was employed as a machinist and precision instrument gauge inspector at the Watervliet Arsenal for 38 years, retiring on April 1, 1993.
An avid obsessive gardener extraordinaire, growing vegetables and flowers and was a member of the Bocce Ball league at the Colonie Elks. He loved sports, especially the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He enjoyed vacationing at Nauset Beach in Cape Cod, traveling especially to Europe, cooking, baking after his retirement and watching all his grandchildren's sporting events .
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Lisa (David) Williams, Portsmouth, NH; a son, Timothy (Kristine) Manoni, MD, Weston, CT; his grandchildren, Troy and Jacob Williams and Alexandra, Makayla and Portia Manoni; his siblings, Arthur (Susan) Manoni, Clifton Park, Albert (Virginia) Manoni, Salem, VA, Louis (Joan) Manoni, Spotsylvania, VA and David Manoni, Spotsylvania, VA; his brothers-in-law, Jack T. (Ngai Ching) Sweeney, Kinderhook and Brian (Iva) Sweeney, Decatur, GA and former sister-in-law, Cecile Sweeney, Ballston Spa. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Manoni and a brother, Harold Manoni.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 4-7PM.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10AM at the funeral home and at 10:30AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.
Interment will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery Defreestville.
