Thomasina 'Tomi' Oviatt Larson, 80

Brunswick - Thomasina 'Tomi' Oviatt Larson, 80, of Meadowbrook Lane died Friday June 13, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late George and Hazel Oviatt and wife of the late James J. Larson Sr.

She attended Emma Willard School, Lansingburgh High School and Edgewood Park in Briarcliff, NY for merchandising and interior design.

Tomi was a homemaker who loved doing for her family. She brought her love for crafts, decorating and cooking into her home. She was owner of Oviatt Plumbing and Heating Distributors in Lansingburgh and many years ago, she worked for B. Altman & Co. in New York City.

She was a member of the YWCA Board of Directors, Rensselaer County Historical Society, Troy Garden Club, The Country Club of Troy and a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church Troy and its PTA.

Survivors include a son, James J. 'Jay' (Emily) Larson Jr. of Troy; two daughters, Patricia 'Patti' (Jay) Stateler of Golden, CO and Marianne 'Annie' Larson of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Lt. James J. (Jay) Larson III US Army of Troy, Katie and Christopher Larson of Troy and Kristine and Laura Stateler of Golden, CO and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mae Burgess Braden.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8PM.

Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville. The Larson family would like to thank Mom's caregivers, Rose Bielawa, Lisa Willis, Colleen Rifenburgh and Betty Sfara. Without these four angels, the last 3 years would have been much more difficult.
