West Sand Lake - Thomas W. Clickner Sr., 83, of Fletcher Place died suddenly at his home, Friday, June 26, 2015.
Born in North Greenbush, he was son of the late Walter Earl Clickner Sr. and Elizabeth M. Duffy Clickner and husband of the late Virginia Dodson Clickner. Tom was a lifelong resident of West Sand Lake and a graduate of Averill Park High School.
He was a supervisor for the New York Telephone Company for 35 years retiring in 1994.
After his retirement, he volunteered for the Police Benevolent Association of New York State and the Telephone Pioneers of America. Tom was honorably discharged from the Army as a sergeant after serving in Korea. Then, went on to Hudson Valley Community College to earn his associates degree.
Survivors include his beloved children, Thomas (Charlene) Clickner Jr., Melrose, Debra (Neil) VanBuren, Sand Lake, David (Susan) Clickner, Castleton, Robert Clickner, Albany, and Gary Clickner, West Sand Lake; his beloved grandchildren, Christina (Donald) Schreiner, Robert and Dukey VanBuren, Sarah (Don) and Matt Clickner, Christopher and Nicholas Clickner; his beloved great granddaughters Samantha and Sabrina Schreiner; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Elsie, Ernest, Paul, and Walter Jr. Tom will always be loved and his presence will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392NY150 West Sand Lake on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 4 - 7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 10AM at the FUNERAL HOME.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
