Theresa A. Hayden

Troy - Theresa ‘Terry’ A. Hayden, 50, of Fifteenth Street died Monday, January 16, 2017, at St. Peter's Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born in Manchester, CT, she was the daughter of Gerald P. Hayden of New Hampshire and Mary Lu Lawn Scarlato of Connecticut. She was raised in Ellington, CT and resided in Troy for over 20 years. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Haverford College in PA and her Master's in Social Work from Boston College in 1994. 

Terry was employed as Senior Student Services Administrator at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the Computer Science Department, where she had been employed since 1995.  

She was a member of Troy Shares and a DJ on the Mostly Folk program at WRPI. 

Survivors in addition to her parents, include her siblings, Stephen Scarlato (Bridget) of Windsor, CT, Daisy Scarlato (Valter Santos Filho), Hawaii, Jesse Scarlato of Vermont and Ben Scarlato of Washington, and nieces and nephews, Asher, Tabitha and Julian Scarlato.  She was predeceased by a brother, David Hayden.

A memorial service will be held at the RPI Chapel and Cultural Center, 2125 Burdett Ave, Troy, NY on February 11th at 11 AM with a reception to follow.
