Shirley A. Millington

Shirley A. Millington, 69 Averill Park Shirley A. Nichols Millington, 69, of Harvey Way, died Sunday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Alma H. LaMore Nichols and wife of Joseph R. Millington. They had celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary, with family, in the Samaritan Hospital this month. She had resided in the Troy and Averill Park area all her life and was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School Cum Laude. Mrs. Millington was employed at Behr-Manning for several years prior to the 15 years at JR Sousa BP Oil in Green Island retiring 15 years ago. After her retirement, she worked for H&R Block. She was past president of the Women's Guild of the former Stow Hill- St. Michael's Church, active in the Ladies Elks Troy Council and a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter Jennifer Cingranelli and husband Richard of Latham; a brother James P. Nichols and wife Dorothy of Averill Park; a daughter-in-law Mary Karen Millington of Colonie; a grandson; several granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Michael W. Millington. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy and at 9:30am from St. Henry's Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3-8pm. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
