Shirley A. Malo Ernst, 72

Brunswick - Shirley A. Malo Ernst, 72,of Country Way Apartments, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Francis Malo and Anna (Garrity) Malo and wife of the late Floyd R. Ernst.

She was raised in Cohoes, resided in Poestenkill for over 50 years and the past 4 years in Brunswick and was educated at Cohoes schools and Cohoes High School.

Mrs. Ernst was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park and active in volunteer activities at the ROUSE apartments.

She is survived by her children, Michele (Thomas) Osterhout of Clifton Park, Colleen Hale of Averill Park and Robert (Tammy) Ernst of East Poestenkill; her grandchildren, Danielle R. Gannon of Clifton Park, Jason Hale of Averill Park and Emmanuel Dunham and Kendrick Monroe both of East Poestenkill. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Stephanie A. Gannon.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 11:30 AM at St. Henry's Church in Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Provost, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-7 PM.

Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Waterford.
