Shirley A. Lynch Carley, 99

Cohoes - Shirley A. Lynch Carley, 99, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, after a brief illness.

Born in Troy on January 8, 1914, she was daughter of the late Michael Lynch and Emma Quandt Lynch and beloved wife of the late William L. Carley for 63 years, former athletic coach of Catholic Central High School, Troy Mayor and Commissioner of Recreation for the City of Troy. A life long resident of Troy, Shirley attended Catholic Central High School and was a graduate of Troy Business College.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.

She was a St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors.

She was mother of William M. (Diane) Carley, Rexford and Lynn A. (Donald) Madsen, Wynantskill; beloved Nana to grandchildren, Maryjo (Todd) Erway, Saratoga Springs, Sara (Joseph) Walsh, Wynantskill, William Sean (Sandi) Carley, Leesburg, VA, and Kelly Madsen, East Greenbush and great grandchildren, Liam, Patrick, Brodie, Kiptyn, Brendalyn, Carley and Madelyn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 10-11 AM.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church 55 North Lake Avenue Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Randall Patterson, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery Troy.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion given by the staff of Eddy Village Green, Cohoes.
