Scott F. Blood, 64

Troy - Scott F. Blood, 64, died Friday, February 8, 2013, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of Genevieve B. Begley Blood of Troy and the late Frederick J. Blood. He had resided in Troy most of his life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1966. Scott attended Hudson Valley Community College and graduated from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. He served in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged in 1974. Scott was a talented amateur artist.

Scott worked as a professional waiter for many years before becoming a Registered Nurse. Most recently, he worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Survivors in addition to his mother include a sister, Shelley Blood (Jim) Hoover, Santa Monica, CA; a brother, Jeffrey K. Blood, Troy and several cousins and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John H. Blood.

Scott's family would like to thank the staff at Samaritan Hospital ICU for their outstanding and compassionate care of Scott.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.

Interment will be in Memory Gardens Colonie.
