SAMUEL EVANS, 90 Cohoes Samuel Evans, 90, of Remsen Street, died Sunday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a long illness. Born in Cohoes, he was son of the late Mark and Hanna Greaves Evans and husband of the late Dorothy Isadore Kinns Evans. He had resided in Cohoes for 50 years and in Speigletown for 10 years before moving back to Cohoes. Mr. Evans partner for 10 years in Wagar and Evans Plumbing in Cohoes retiring at age 65. Prior to that he worked for Wagar Plumbing and Heating for 45 years. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Cohoes and a former member of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church and its church choir, a former member of the First Baptist Church and a Deacon of the church, a member of the Local 7 Steam fitters Union and the Royal Arcinum . He was an avid bowler and a member of the First Baptist Church bowling league. Survivors include a daughter Beverly Wilcox and husband Merton of Speigletown; two brothers Mark Evans of Pownal, VT and Luke Evans of North Troy; two grandchildren Donald Allen Wilcox of Waterford and Kimberly Ann Dusenberry of Speigletown; four great-grandchildren Joshua Robert Dusenberry of Speigletown, Cody Allen Dusenberry of Speigletown, Krystal Lee Taylor of Speigletown and Jacob Allen Wilcox of Waterford and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Elsie Evans; a brother John William Evans and a granddaughter Tina Marie Taylor. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00am from the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy with Rev. Arthur Hagy, Pastor of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8PM. Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
