Poestenkill Ruth Ives Daley,77, of Main Street, died Sunday at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy she was daughter of the late Alson H. and Gladys Cottrell Ives and wife of the late Howard A. Daley. She had resided in Poestenkill for the past 40 years and was educated at Troy High School, class of 1943 and attended Troy Business College.

Mrs. Daley was Executive Director of the Campfire Girls for many years. Prior to that she worked for Manufacturers National Bank and Sim & Company in Troy.

She was a Campfire Girl leader, a member of the board of the Troy Area Council of Campfire Girls Inc. and a director of Camp Kiwanis. She was active in the Troy Christian Church and was secretary, taught Sunday school, was President of the Mission Circle and was organist and choir director. She was also organist of the Eagle Mills Methodist Church, taught piano many years ago and was a member of the Poestenkill Historical Society and the Brunswick Church. She loved sewing, crafts, gardening and music.

Survivors include two daughters Carol D. Daniel (William E.) of Moreland Hills, OH and Barbara D. Cummings (Charles R. Jr.) of Poestenkill; a son Thomas H. Daley (Kate) of Center Brunswick; two sisters Dorothy McChesney of Moriah, NY and Marjorie Wagar (Merritt) of Grafton; six grandchildren Petar and Marc Daniel, Kristin and Justin Cummings and Tracey and Christopher Daley; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am at Brunswick Church, White Church Road with Rev. Harry J. Heintz and Rev. Kate Kotfila co-pastors, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church Wednesday from 10-11am prior to the service. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.

Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Daley to the American Diabetes Association 7 Washington Square Albany, NY 12205.
