Rose Mahoney Duncan, 64

Poestenkill - Rose Mahoney Duncan, 64, of Poestenkill, passed to eternal life after a long and courageous battle with both Parkinson's disease and cancer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born in Troy, on January 11th, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Geremiah (Jerry) and Blanche (Laura) Mahoney of Watervliet. Rose graduated from Troy High School and was previously employed by Montgomery Ward in Menands for 17 years and then Computer Science Corporation also in Menands for many years before her early retirement.

She was the beloved wife to the late Henry Duncan and devoted mother to her two daughters Jamie M Ward (James) and Robby Ann Guilbault (Matthew) both of Poestenkill, NY. Rose found her greatest joy in life was being a Nana to her two grandchildren Sean Henry and Alysa Rose. She was the sister of Lawrence (Larry) Mahoney (Jean), John (Jack) Mahoney (Elaine), Thomas Mahoney, Gerald (Jerry) Mahoney (Ruth) and William Mahoney, Betsy O'Dell (Theron), Mary Grimmick (Ray), Darlene Stark (Walter), Ellen Mahoney (Fred), Germain Mahoney (Willie) and Linda Mahoney and sister in law to the late Joseph Duncan (Helen). She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Helen Duncan.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the exemplary staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor for their loving care, support and guidance throughout Rose's stay. Rose felt extremely fortunate to have a second home and to have a second family that she loved so very much.
