Rose A. (Brust) Dickinson

Brunswick Rose A. Brust Dickinson, 90, of Country Way Apartments, died 
Friday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness. 

Born in Raymertown, she was daughter of the late Waldo  and Alta Bornt Brust and wife of the late J. Leslie Dickinson. She was raised in Raymertown and resided in Lansingburgh  as a child, working as a nanny after school.  She resided in Wynantskill until 1981 when she moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida, moving back to Brunswick 2 years ago. She attended Lansingburgh High School.

Mrs. Dickinson was employed at Merkle and Gelman and the Troy Covering Shop in Troy as a salesperson for 15 years.  She later worked as a bus driver for 20 years with  B.O.C.E.S. in Rensselaer County, driving Wynantskill children,  from which she retired. 

She was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill and a member of Home Bureau of the church. She was a member of the Tuesday Nighters of Hi-Way Bowl in Wynantskill and a volunteer at 4 Doors in West Sand Lake.  While residing in Florida she volunteered at the Sebastian Hospital and, library and gift shop and was a volunteer driver for seniors.  She was a member of the Rosland United Methodist Church in Barefoot Bay, Florida and volunteered at its Thrift Shop . 
     
Survivors include two sons,  James L. Dickinson Jr. and wife Janet of Wynantskill and Dexter B. Dickinson and wife Sandra of Raymertown; a daughter,  Patricia Foster of Westmere;  four sisters, Norma Zyck of  Binghamton, Iva Bonesteel of Raymertown, Elva Golinski of Raymertown and Beryl Krogh of Brunswick; three brothers, David Brust of Missouri, Ronald Brust of Valley Falls and Kenneth Brust of  Raymertown; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Elton Brust and two sisters, Edna Cushman and Marjorie Wait.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30AM from the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill Church St. and Main Ave. Wynantskill with Rev. Chad R. Schuitema, Pastor.,  officiating. 

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenues in Troy on Sunday from 5-8pm. 

Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
