Rolland Frederick 'Jack' Lovering, Jr.

April 24, 1926 ~ July 31, 2015 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Cohoes - Rolland Frederick ’Jack’ Lovering Jr., 89, formerly of O’Neil Street Troy died Friday, July 31, 2015, at Eddy Village Green Cohoes after a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, he was son of the late Rolland Frederick Lovering Sr. and Helen Waterson Muir Lovering and husband of the late Ilean M. Pollay Lovering. He had resided in Troy most of his life and was a graduate of Troy High School and Veteran's Vocational School. 

Jack was employed as an electrical foreman for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for 43 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon and a member of the Bailey Mountain Fish and Game Club.  He served during World War II in the Army stationed in Italy, Germany and North Africa. 

Survivors include a son, William Dean Lovering, Santa Paula, CA; two daughters, Kathleen (Charles) Simmons, Johnstown and Donna Jean (Paul) Pignatelli, Troy, his grandchildren, April Lynn Hallcom, Chelsa Marie Lovering, Scott Paul, Kevin Michael and Lisa Marie Pignatelli, Darcy Ann Simmons, Diane Marie (Matthew) Willson and Stephanie Ann (Douglas) Krantz; his great grandchildren, Addison Saige and Hudson Graham Hallcom, Chloe Rhyan and Olivia Grace Willson and Kaya Osita and Myella Skye Krantz; a brother, Richard D. (Linda) Lovering, Arlington, VA and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Morse.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, August 7, 2015  from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10AM at the funeral home with Rev. John McAuley, officiating.

Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at House 12 at Eddy Village Green.
