Roger Armand Vandeputte

North Greenbush- Roger Armand Vandeputte, 69, of Jordan Point Drive, surrounded by his love ones, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at his home after a brief illness.
 
Born in Antwerp, Belgium, he was son of the late Gentiel A. Vandeputte and Louise Broothaers Vandeputte and husband  of Suzanne  Farley Vandeputte. Roger moved to the United States at a young age and was raised in Albany. He had lived in Poestenkill, and has recently resided  in Troy and North Greenbush area.  He was a 1966 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. 
 
As a young man, he was the assistant director of the Albany Boys Club and later was employed as a foreman for Fort Orange Press in Albany retiring in 2009 after 38 years.
 
He was a lead singer and drummer for his band, Roger and the Misty Blue Trio. He loved sports and playing basketball and always spoke about coaching CYO Basketball at St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. Roger loved traveling and cruises. He and Suzanne spent winters in Florida and summers at their home on the great Sacandaga Lake boating and spending time with their grandchildren.  He was an avid NY Giants and Yankees fan. 
 
Roger was a Veteran of the United States Army.  
 
Survivors, in addition to his wife,  include his children, Nicole (Michael) Menard, South Berwick, ME, Christopher (Kayla Meissner) Vandeputte, Poestenkill; his step daughters, Maria (Kevin) Vooris, Wynantskill, Michelle Bucciero, Voorheesville, Suzanne (Chris) Spofford, Guilderland: his grandchildren, Savannah Menard, Joseph and Jessica Vooris, Gavin and Emily Spofford and Jaelyn Vandeputte. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don and Pat Bucci, Stan and Marcia Phillips, Hilton and Rosemary Perez, Jim and Nancy Farley, Dan and Gerry Farley, and Dave and Barbara Farley. Also several nephews and nieces He was predeceased by his son, Jason and his brother, Walter.
 
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, November 02, 2016 from 4-7 PM. 
 
A memorial service will be held Thursday, at 10 AM at the  funeral home with Rev. Jim  Fitzmaurice, Pastor of Christ the King Church in Albany, officiating.
 
Interment will be in  Memory Gardens Colonie.
