Robert J. Reo, Sr.

Wynantskill - Robert J. Reo, Sr., 84, of 15 Judd Lane died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his residence, after a brief illness,  surrounded by his loving children.

Born in Waterford, he was the son of the late Dominick Reo and Anna Pafundi Reo and loving husband of the late Sue J. Mariano Reo.  Bob resided most of his life in Troy and attended Troy High School where he was a member of the varsity football, basketball and track teams. He was also a member of the Troy High School Hall of Fame. 

He was the owner and operator of Reo Welding Co. in Troy for 38 years, retiring in 1992, leaving 3 sons to continue on with the business, now located in Cohoes.

Bob was a longtime Communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and summers boating on Lake George and loved being with his family.   

Survivors include his children, Robert J. (Carna) Reo Jr., Troy, Mary (Roddy) Valente, Loudonville, David A.  (Deborah) Reo, Rensselaer, Michael E. (Mary Ellen) Reo, Wynantskill and Steven E.  (Shannon) Reo, Poestenkill; his grandchildren, Chuck (Carrie), Robert III (Josie), Anthony (Jivon) and Carnata Reo, Daniella (Dave) Redgrave, Stephen Valente, Gregory, David Jr and Michael Jr (Tiffany),  Reo, Tiffany (George) Pinero and Brittany and Alexander Reo; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Reo.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Bob’s dedicated caregivers, Lisa, Wendy, Brenda, Callie, Sharon and Ashley.    

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 9 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor.

Interment will be in  St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum Troy.
