Robert G. Prenovost, 86

Brunswick - Robert G. Prenovost, 86, of Brunswick died Thursday morning, November 27, 2008 at Van Rensselaer Manor following a series of strokes.

Born in Montreal of May Caple Prenovost and Paul Prenovost on May 19, 1922.

He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and served with the RAF, flying from British Airbases north of London.

His working career was with the Sherwin-Williams Company of Canada, serving various sales managerial positions. In 1971, he transferred to the International Division on his appointment at President of Sherwin-Williams do Brasil, S.A. After several years in Brasil, he returned to Canada as Executive Vice President of the company.

He was a member of St. James Club and Rotary Club of Montreal.

In 1989 he moved to Brunswick when his wife became owner of Empire Plaza Books in Albany's Empire Plaza. They operated the bookstore until 2002.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lois Heckman Prenovost and his children, Christopher Prenovost of Maplewood, NJ, Nicole Negrea of Greenwich, CT, Louise Prenovost of Calgary, John Prevnovost, Mary Jane Prenovost DesRochers and Paul Prenovost of Montreal; a stepson, Jean-Pierre Chalos of Chicago and 14 grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Troy with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating.

There will be no calling hours.
