Robert S. Dyer, 67

West Sand Lake - Robert S. Dyer, 67, of Birch Drive died suddenly Monday, August 16, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Frank Kadara Dyer Sr. and Bertha Jackson Dyer and husband for 47 years of Nancy L. Rendert Dyer. He was raised in Wynantskill, resided in West Sand Lake for 41 years and was a graduate of Averill Park High School.

Bob was a driver for Crowley Foods for 32 years retiring in 2002.

He was active in the Nassau Sportsmans Club being awarded Member of the Year and was a Life Member. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, the Teamsters Union Local #669 and a former member of the West Sand Lake Fire Company. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to bowl.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Chad Robert Dyer of West Sand Lake; a daughter, Leslie Jean Dyer of Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Gage, Brittany-Lee, Samantha, and Taylor St. Pierre; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alice and John Pelton of West Sand Lake and two nieces, Kara and Dana Pelton. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Dyer, Jr.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 AM at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush , Pastor of Salem United Methodist Church, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
