Robert W. Brown, 87

Poestenkill - Robert W. Brown, 87, of Main Street died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Percy Willard Brown and Anna Belle Kirchner Brown and husband for 66 years of Nancy Jane Soule Brown. He was raised in Troy and resided in Poestenkill for over 60 years and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Mr. Brown was an installer for New York Telephone Company for 35 years retiring in 1985.

He was a life member of the New York Telephone Pioneers, and a former member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Troy. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Bob enjoyed archeology and nature studies and was an outdoor sportsman enjoying hunting and fishing.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Linda A. (Richard) Bulson, Cropseyville; three grandchildren, David Bulson, Jennifer (Daniel Greis) Bulson and Sarah (Joshua Paquin) Bulson; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Willard A. Brown.

Funeral service at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
