Robert Allen Horton, 61

Brunswick - Robert Allen Horton, 61, of Piney Point Road died suddenly Sunday, April 11, 2010, at his residence.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late John P. Horton Sr. and Rita M. Weaver Horton and husband for 38 years of Marion M. 'Mickie' Colaneri Horton. He had resided in the Troy area all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1968 and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Bob was employed at SUNY System Administration in Albany for 22 years retiring in 2007.

He was a member of the Emerald Athletic Club in Troy, Troy Lodge of Elks and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan and loved traveling to Maine and Cape Cod and spending time with his granddaughter.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Matthew Robert (Jessica) Horton of Scotia; his beloved granddaughter, Erin Horton of Scotia; two brothers, John P. Horton Jr. of Troy and Timothy W. (Becky) Horton of Troy; his mother-in-law, Marion M. Colaneri of Brunswick; a sister-in-law, Jean Colaneri of Brunswick; a nephew, Steven J. (Kelly) Horton of Troy and a niece, Kaitlin Horton of Troy,

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7PM.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Robert Allen Horton to the Charity of one's choice.
