Richard A. Wiita, 72 Troy, NY Richard A. Wiita, 72, of Central Avenue, died Saturday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness. Born in Ashburnham, MA he was son of the late Leo and Lydia Lystila Wiita and husband of Ruth McElligott Wiita. He had resided 54 years in Troy and was a 1951 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy. Mr. Wiita was employed as a civil engineer for New York State Department of Transportation for many years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors in addition to his wife include a son Timothy Wiita of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter Tracy Wiita of Burnt Hills; two sisters Irene Anderson of Gardner, MA and Mary Hastings of Enfield, CT; two granddaughters Elizabeth and Caroline Wiita of Cincinnati and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7:30pm at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Pawling at Maple Avenue Troy with Rev. Harold Carrier, Chaplain of Samaritan Hospital, officiating.
