Richard Andrew Mason

Clifton Park - Richard Andrew Mason, 62, of Robinwood Drive died suddenly Friday, February 2, 2018, at his residence.

Born in Albany, he was the son of Constance M. Bergmann Mason of Troy and the late Julian R. Mason.  He was the husband of  Sandra A. Laurenzo Mason. Rich was raised in West Sand Lake, and attended Averill Park High School. He earned his Bachelor's and Masters Degrees from SUNY Albany in Computer Science. 

Rich was employed in tech support for New York State, retiring from the Office For Technology.   

Rich and Sandra enjoyed many years of competition ballroom dancing. They also created many beautiful memories travelling, often to exotic places.  Rich loved the mountains, lakes and rivers, hiking and canoeing.  A kind and generous person, he loved his family, and especially enjoyed the little ones.    

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include a sister, Catherine (Charles) Sullivan, his father and mother-in-law, Peter and Helen Laurenzo; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Peter and Leslie Laurenzo, Karen and Paul Othon and Robert and Lisa Laurenzo; his nieces and nephews, Timothy C. Sullivan (Atsuko Ichinohe), Constance A. Sullivan, Jennifer, Jason and Christopher Laurenzo (Erin), Laura Lindquist (Rob), Sandra Dyer,  Maria, Carrie and Peter Laurenzo and grand nieces and nephews, Caleb, Molly, Noah, Julia, Evan, Sam, Braiden and Amelia.

Relatives and friends may call at the Brunswick Church  42 White Church Lane Troy on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1-3 PM with a funeral service at 3 PM with Rev. Henry Kim, officiating.
 
Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery Menands, Monday, Feb.12th at 11:00 AM.
