Richard I. Couser, Jr.

July 6, 1941 ~ April 5, 2016 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Troy - Richard I. Couser Jr., 74, of Sterling Avenue died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital after a longillness.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late Richard Couser Sr. and Mabel Stewart Couser and husband for    23 years of Deborah Bertasso Couser. He had resided in Rensselaer for most of his life. 

Richard was a driver for Astro Autobody and a mechanic for Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer for 16 years. 

He was a lifetime volunteer with the Rensselaer Fire Company and enjoyed Lebanon Valley Speedway, horse racing at Saratoga, OTB and the casinos. He served in the Marine Corps.   

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Mark (Michele) Couser, MA; his daughters, Kelly Couser, Ravena, Dawn (Anthony) Imbarogno, Ravena and Annjenette (Shawn) Redden, Troy; a step son, Anthony (Margaret) Lourinia, Troy; a sister, Beverly Meissner, Nassau; his grandchildren, Rachel, Grace, Nathan and Stephen Couser, Lacey Meachem, Karlie and Kelsey Lourinia, Hunter and Mia Redden, and Gino Imbarogno.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday from 5-7pm followed by a service at 7.

A special thank you to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County nurses Marsha, Mary and Paula for their wonderful and loving care.
