Richard A. Corbeil, 75

Troy - Richard A. Corbeil, 75, Brunswick Ave died Sunday, October 14, 2007 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Israel Joseph Corbeil and Louise (Roach) Corbeil and devoted husband for 40 years of Frances (Brennan) Corbeil.

He attended Cohoes schools and resided in Troy most of his life.

Mr. Corbeil was a police officer for Cohoes and Troy Police Departments and retired, after many years, from the Van Rensselaer Manor as a Supervisor of Housekeeping.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was devoted to his country and fellow veterans. He remained active as Committee Chair of the Rensselaer County Honor A Deceased Veteran, a member of the Northeast Chapter Korean War Veterans Association, Veterans of Lansingburgh and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was past Commander of the Wynantskill American Legion and served as Housemaster of the Purple Heart of Lansingburgh. During his years of service in the United States Army, he received many awards and honors for his service to his country.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his grandson, Richard T. Corbeil, Jr. of Troy; a granddaughter, Shannon L. Corbeil; his daughters, Anne Marie (Robert) Josselyn and Joan (Freeland) Hubbard and a son, Richard T. Corbeil Sr. all of New Hampshire and a brother, Joseph Israel Corbeil of Mechanicville. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline Fournier.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 9AM at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy and at 9:30AM at the St. William's Church Madison Avenue Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Mercure, Pastor.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 PM.

Interment Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
