Renette Wendell Evans, 96

Brunswick-Renette Wendell Evans, 96, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy.

Born in Mechanicville, she was the daughter of the late Newman Wendell and Grace (Powell) Wendell and wife of the late Edwin C. Evans.

She had resided in the Troy area since 1956 and was educated at Mechanicville schools and Albany Business College.

Mrs. Evans, prior to marriage, she was employed by Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company in Albany.

She was a member of the Ilium Literary Club, Troy Boys Club Auxiliary, Women's Association of Vanderheyden Hall, Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary and the Country Club of Troy.

She is survived three nieces, Phyllis Mackey (Michael) of Hampton Beach, NH, Laurie Bobear (William) of Valley Falls and Alicia Tinney (John) of Owego, NY; a nephew, Everett T. Beadle (Linda) of Rock Hill, SC; her sisters-in-law, Nina Wendell of Mechanicville and Ruth Wendell of Binghamton and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Beadle and two brothers, Royal and Alfred Wendell.

Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family.

Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Troy.
