Rebecca Rinaldi Matarazzo, 99

Troy - Rebecca Rinaldi Matarazzo, 99, of Cortland Street Sycaway died Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Italy, she was daughter of the late Guiseppe Rinaldi and Luigi DiDomenico Rinaldi and wife of the late Joseph A. Matarazzo. She came from Italy to Troy in 1920 and was a 1932 graduate of Troy High School.

Mrs. Matarazzo was an account clerk for Montgomery Ward in Menands for many years, retiring 37 years ago.

She was a longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church in Eagle Mills and a member of the Sycaway and Troy Senior Citizens.

Survivors include a son, Joseph A. Matarazzo Jr., Rotterdam; a daughter, Judith Ann Matarazzo, Pomona, NY;; a granddaughter, Joelle Ann Matarazzo, Brooklyn and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Pasquale and Carl Rinaldi; two sisters, Theresa Bell and Emily Rinaldi.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. David Martin, officiating.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Rebecca Matarazzo to the Hope United Methodist Church 566 Brunswick Road Troy, NY 12180.
