Raymond C. Taber, 85

North Greenbush - Raymond C. Taber, 85, of Blooming Grove Drive died Friday, May 13, 2011, at Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Clinton Heights, he was son of the late Frederick Taber and Anna Linster Taber and husband of the late Mildred B. Ramella Taber. He had resided in Averill Park most of his life and was a graduate of Columbia High School.

Mr. Taber was a business representative and sales person for Colehamer & Fellows Pump Company on First Street in Troy for 20 years, retiring at 20 years ago. Prior to that, he was a milkman for Normanskill Dairy and worked for Freihofer Baking and Montgomery Ward in Menands

He was a member of several bowling leagues at Hi-Way Recreation in Wynantskill. He was a Radioman in the US Navy during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Gary (Jean) Taber, Nassau; two daughters, Susan E. Taber, Troy and Beth (David) Hull, West Sand Lake; a sister, Virginia Scovill, West Sand Lake and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route150 West Sand Lake on Monday from 4-7 PM.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Andrew Russ , Chaplain of The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, officiating.

Interment will be in Bloomingrove Cemetery in Defreestville.
