Raymond E. Hart

Cohoes - Raymond E. Hart, 83, of Waterside Way died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at his residence after a long illness.
 
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Joseph Hart and Irene Fontaine Hart and beloved husband for 27 years of Elizabeth A. Staples Armstrong Hart. He was raised in Troy, resided in West Sand Lake for 27 years and was a graduate of St. Lawrence School and Troy High School. 
 
Ray was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the NYS Department of Transportation for 13 years retiring in 1996. Prior to that he owned and operated Ray Hart Service Station at Sunoco on Campbell's Ave and Gulf on 15th and Hutton, Troy.  
 
He was a 40-year member of the Troy Lodge of Elks, member of the Green Island Seniors, life member of the Emerald Athletics Club, and was on the Troy Elks dart league for several years. Ray also enjoyed traveling. Ray played cards every Friday night for the past 18 years with the Connelly and Fusco families and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War stationed in Germany. 
 
Survivors in addition to his wife include his beloved children, Daniel (Sherry) Hart, James (Patricia) Hart, Ronald Hart, Susan (Raymond) Davis, Raymond (Patricia Flexer) Hart, Lynda (John) Caccamo, Laurie  Fazioli, Elizabeth Wall and George L. (Alyson) Armstrong III; a brother, William (Joan) Hart;18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Girard Hart and two wives, Joyce Coler Hart and Aldona Pinkans Hart.
 
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 4-7 PM. 
 
Funeral service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James J. Vaughan.
 
Interment will be in  Elmwood Hill Cemetery Troy.
